Meet the Author

Jen Rice grew up fascinated by the ground beneath her feet — literally. With a background spanning geology, GIS and geospatial analysis, healthcare, biology, and chemistry, she has spent her career asking the kind of questions that don't always have comfortable answers.

That curiosity became The Hollow Earth Syndicate — originally published in 2017 and now fully reimagined under Procyon Horizon Press, with the rights reverted and the story rebuilt from the ground up. It's a science thriller grounded in real geology and real science, built in the tradition of the writers who shaped her own love of story — Michael Crichton, Robin Cook, C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien, and Madeleine L'Engle.

Jen lives in the St. George, Utah area, where the landscape itself — volcanoes, red rock, fault lines, and the kind of wide-open desert that makes you wonder what's underneath it — provided no shortage of inspiration. When she's not writing, she's usually spending time outdoors, stargazing in her backyard, or enjoying time with family.

The Hollow Earth Syndicate is the first book in a planned trilogy, and Jen's first novel published under her own independent imprint.
